Crofton School all-weather pitch

A message from Matthew Leeming, Headteacher.

If you have visited Crofton School recently, you may have noticed that our much anticipated all weather pitch is very nearly open – we hope to have a formal ceremony on Friday 11 May 2012.

It is a fantastic facility – our field is lovely in the summer but is absolutely useless from October to April because of its poor drainage. The new pitch will provide us with an all-year outside PE space and will also be used at break and lunchtimes.

The pitch has been made possible thanks to the hard work of Mr Glasspool, our School Business Manager, and the support of Andrew Hill and everyone at Pitch Invasion, our commercial partners. It is also the result of the determination of a small group of coaches at Crofton Saints Football Club, most importantly John Walkerdine, who is also a Crofton parent. I am really grateful to John for his part in the project and am delighted that he has agreed to cut the tape on 11 May 2012!

So, hopefully taking place on Friday 11 May 2012 at 2.30pm, will be a short ceremony and then a couple of inaugural games to mark the event with a selection of VIPs and dignitaries in attendance.

It is proposed to have 2 games on the split pitch for:
Crofton Year 7 vs Crofton Saints Under 12’s
Crofton Year 8 vs Crofton Saints Under 13’s
